Job Summary
The post holder will be part of team delivering a high-quality business intelligence and analytics function to support Trust services and ensure the Trust has and is using a relevant and effective set of performance measures and indicators, including those prescribed by government and commissioners.
The post holder will support the Head of BI by developing, maintaining, and operating reporting services and information systems to produce routine corporate information and reporting outputs in the most effective and efficient manner and within required deadlines.
The role requires strong technical skills in data management, business intelligence and analytics, including data modelling and data visualization, and the ability to use data blending and statistical software to create insights.
The post holder will use their knowledge of Trust data and business processes, to support research on emerging analytics tools and technologies, as required, and contribute to putting forward options and recommendations on the Trust can take advantage of relevant tools and technologies to become a high-performing insight-driven organisation.

Main duties of the job
- Interpret complex and routine information requests from across the Trust in line with national and local requirements
- Use advanced data analysis techniques, corporate reporting systems and Business Intelligence tools with other members of the team and directorate to design, test and produce appropriate new or updated reporting outputs.
- Work to automate and delegate routine delivery of report outputs where appropriate
- Develop the BI and information systems to ensure all routine information outputs are delivered on time and quality assured before dissemination and publication
- Lead on the delivery of changes to the corporate reporting system using appropriate technical and project management methodologies
- Undertake report testing and support transition to new corporate reporting systems or the ingestion of new data feeds into the data warehouse and Trustwide reports
- Act as the main point of contact for divisional teams in relation to routine information outputs, highlighting data quality, completeness and/or interpretation issues as appropriate
- Investigate data quality issues and highlight these for action, involving relevant Trust staff within and external to the Analytics and wider Digital directorate as needed.

- High level of software skills, including SQL Server, PowerBI and Excel.

- Expert knowledge and understanding of NHS datasets such as the MHSDS
