RKY PARTICIPANTS’ POLICY / TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These terms and conditions (the Terms and Conditions) shall apply to the provision of the training by RKY to the participants.
Interpretation
In these Terms and Conditions, unless the context otherwise requires, the following expressions shall have the following meanings:
Participant: the person or firm who purchases the Training from RKY.
Alumni Refresher: An alumni refresher is when an alumnus returns, to retake or complete a previously completed training.
Project field: specialized areas of expertise or experience within a candidate’s work history, that showcases proficiency in certain types of projects or industries.
Going price: The price set for each training based on the market price.
CV reference: A document containing candidate’s qualifications and work experience, which provides insights to potential employers
SM: SCRUM Master
PO: Product Owner
PM: Project Manager
BA: Business Analyst
Bootcamp: An intensive, focused learning and a short-term program, designed to impart practical skills or knowledge in a specific field or discipline.
Freelance contract: this is an independent worker and an organization understanding, establishing terms, responsibilities, and deliverables for services provided without monetary compensation.
Voluntary job: an unpaid role willingly undertaken by an individual, contributing time, skills, and effort to the project’s goals or objectives without financial compensation or obligation.
Unpaid placement: a voluntary role taken by an individual for the purpose of gaining experience, learning within a specific field or industry, while contributing time, skills, and effort to the project’s objectives without financial compensation.
Project work: practical assignments, real-world scenarios, simulations and tasks undertaken by participants to apply, demonstrate and enhance understanding of the subject matter.
LIVE CLASSES
All participants are expected to be polite and courteous to team members at all times.
Participants are to make the best use of LMS, for missed classes as well as for concept reinforcements needs.
All assigned tasks and activities are to be completed, as at when due for proper feedback from all facilitators.
95% participation during the live classes, is expected for all classes. Without this, work reference isn’t guaranteed, as the bedrock to prove experience and knowledge will be missing. Please refer to the reference policy for further details.
Alumni Refresher
An alumni refresher is when an alumnus returns, to retake or complete a previously completed training.
An alumni refresher is recommended after a period of more than six months, participant completed their course and work experience with RKY Careers.
An alumni refresher could be required as a result, but not limited to the following reasons:
– Due to the need to refresh one’s knowledge and take up a new project to extend relevant work experience.
– Inability to complete the course due to personal reasons.
– The desire to be a part of a new project, so as to build on pre-existing knowledge, thereby boosting confidence levels.
All RKY alumni returning on an ‘Alumni Refresher’ will be entitled to 50% off the going price, regardless of the current price (special offers inclusive). Please see the payment policy for the terms and conditions of payment.
An RKY alumnus returning on an ‘Alumni Refresher’, requesting to take up a different course (for instance, going from SM/PO to PM/BA) from what they originally registered for, will be allowed to change course. However, there will be extra charges of £80, to cover for CV and LinkedIn amendments, that will reflect the new course and role being considered with RKY Careers.
Work Experience & Live Project Extension
An RKY alumnus who desires to be a part of an additional project, so as to build on pre-existing knowledge, will be required to pay a fee of £200. The code of conduct guiding the live project phase (work experience), MUST also be strictly followed.
Reference Policy
At RKY Careers, we strive to provide an exceptional reference policy supporting our participants’ career journeys. Our reference policy ensures that participant receive comprehensive and accurate references while maintaining transparency and professionalism.
As stated previously, RKY Careers will provide a CV reference for participants returning on an ‘Alumni Refresher.
1. CV Reference Provision:
RKY Careers is committed to providing a CV reference for all participant who register for our bootcamps until they secure their desired role. This support will be available throughout the course until the participant obtains a suitable position.
2. Bootcamp Project Completion:
We strongly advise that you complete the projects related to the Bootcamp before applying for jobs and requesting references. This is the basis for providing you with reference as this would not only allow you to be equipped with the relevant skills and experience for the job market but will also increase your confidence at interviews and also help you thrive on the job and ultimately be a great ambassador for
RKY in the industry.
RKY withholds the right to provide you with a reference if we can prove that you participated in the bootcamp and reasonably attempted and completed both individual and Group projects, as the case may be.
3. Representation of Work Experience:
To accurately represent the work experience gained through our programs, participants are advised to present it as a freelance contract, voluntary job or unpaid placement rather than a permanent job. This approach aligns with industry standards and ensures that the representation is consistent and appropriate during conversations with recruiters and on their CVs. For better context on explaining what you did with RKY Consulting, whilst you are on the work experience with RKY Consulting, you will be assigned to work on projects – all projects will be remote working only. RKY Consulting, its subsidiaries and affiliate companies source projects from clients which may be related to the following roles such as;
Data Analysis
Data Migration
IT Projects
IT consulting
Client onboarding
KYC & Remediation
Web development
Product development
N.B the type of role you are placed in, is dependent on the Bootcamp you have been enrolled into.
4. Employment Status Requests:
While we value the dedication and commitment of our participants during project work, it is essential to note that the work undertaken during the refresher course is voluntary. Although employment status information will not be mentioned in the reference, we want to clarify that we do not provide employment letters or proof of paid employment. Requests for such documentation will be declined.
5. Work Reference Request Process:
When a participant secures a related role and requires a reference, the following process should be
followed:

2. A follow-up mail should be sent to the designated HR Email once your employer has sent the reference request (If a participant makes a reference request via telephone, they will be directed to submit their request mentioned above)
3.RKY HR Team will process all reference requests, providing references related to the project are completed with us to both recruiters and employers on behalf of the participant.
This reference policy will better serve our participants, clarify, and advance their careers. At RKY Careers, we support our participant’s professional growth and success.
Course Fees Payment
Upon registration with RKY Careers, all students, regardless of funding source or fee status, are responsible for their course fees, as all participants must pay their fees in full before the training.

Payments that are not accepted are;
– Amex
– Direct Debit “
Staggered Payment Possibilities
Participants who are unable to pay the full fees upfront can opt for a two- installment plan (50% first and the balance after 4 weeks). Please note that installment payment plans may be slightly higher than the usual fee. The total course fee includes a non-refundable registration fee of £100. The first installment is due on or before the training start date, and all payments must be completed by
the 4th week of the program.
Exceptions
In exceptional cases, RKY Careers may agree to concessions, subject to the management’s policy. However, the terms in this policy still apply.
Payment Default
To avoid any disruptions during the learning phase, participants are expected to pay installments (where agreed) on time. It is the participants’ responsibility to pay installments and not the company to chase for this. Payments are considered overdue 1-minute past midnight of the day the payment is due. Failure to adhere to the payment agreement, without proper notice and communication with the RKY Careers team within 24 hours, will result in the removal of a student from their class, project (where applicable), LMS, Basecamp and other support groups. There will be no access to CV review, interview preparation support, and work references until payment
and late fees are paid in full. If a participant remains in default for over 4 weeks and fails to contact the team, they will be removed entirely from the aforementioned and must pay the full amount to re-enroll.
Participants’ Deferrals
Participants requesting to defer after classes have commenced, must resume classes with the next cohort to avoid additional fees.
Fees for returning to the course, after deferment period are as follows:
– Immediate next cohort – No fees
– 3 – 6 months – £100
– 6 months and more – Full fees
For slots secured and registrations made during discount/promo period, subsequent commencement after the discount period, will require a payment top up, in terms with the current fee obtainable during the commencement period, the difference of which will be worked out and determined by the team.
Alumni Refresher

Refund Process
The registration fee of £100 is non-refundable once registered. Refunds are only possible 24 hours after making payment.
Refund processing takes 7-21 working days from the request date and is refunded to the original payment account. For all refund requests and inquiries, please contact info@rkycareers.com
Withdrawal & Cancellation
Participants who withdraw before their training start date forfeit the £100 non-refundable registration fee. Refunds are only possible 24 hours after making payment. Participants who withdraw after the start of training (attending at least 1 class), or already received
login details to LMS, are ineligible for any refund.
Special Offers, Promos & Discounts
Participants who enrolled during a special offers season, in this immediate context, End of Year Offer (2023), are to ensure that all monthly installments are paid as at when due. Fees which are to be paid in November, December,(2023) and January(2024), must not be missed. As classes start in January 2024, all participants must have completed November and December (2023) monthly installments to be able to take part in classes. Participants who withdraw before their training start date forfeit the £100 non-refundable registration fee.
