The IT Programme Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating multiple IT projects within the organisation to ensure they align with business goals and deliver value. This role involves strategic planning, resource management, stakeholder communication, and ensuring successful project delivery within scope, time, and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities
1. Programme Management
– Define and manage the programme roadmap, aligning IT projects with business strategy and objectives.
– Oversee the integration and interdependencies of various projects within the programme.
2. Project Oversight
– Provide leadership and guidance to project managers and project teams.
– Ensure that project goals are met, including timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
3. Stakeholder Management
– Identify, engage, and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
– Facilitate communication between stakeholders and project teams, ensuring expectations are clearly set and met.
4. Resource Management
– Allocate resources across projects within the programme to optimise efficiency and effectiveness.
– Manage and forecast resource needs, including staff, budget, and technology.
5. Risk Management
– Identify and mitigate programme-level risks and issues.
– Develop contingency plans to address potential project challenges.
6. Performance Monitoring
– Track and report on programme performance using KPIs and other metrics.
– Conduct regular programme reviews and status updates for senior management.
7. Quality Assurance
– Ensure that all projects within the programme adhere to the company’s quality standards.
– Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Financial Management
– Develop and manage the programme budget.
– Monitor project expenditures and ensure financial accountability.
9. Change Management
– Facilitate change management processes to ensure smooth transitions and adoption of new technologies and processes.
– Communicate changes effectively to all stakeholders.
10. Documentation and Reporting
– Maintain comprehensive documentation for all aspects of the programme.
– Prepare and present regular reports on programme progress, risks, and issues.
Qualifications
Education
– Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
– Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) is preferred.
Experience
– Proven experience (5+ years) in managing large-scale IT programmes or multiple IT projects.
– Experience in stakeholder management and leading cross-functional teams. Skills

– Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
– Proficiency in project management tools and software. Technical Skills
– Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
– Proficiency in using project management software such as MS Project, JIRA, or equivalent.
– Knowledge of financial management and budgeting processes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £48,500.00 per year
