About the role

We’re looking for an individual with a focus on optimisation of the propagation process on site, including working with procurement.

What will I be doing?

  • Knowledge carrier for the production processes
  • Continuous process optimisation and troubleshooting of existing processes
  • Maintaining optimal operating points for quality, efficiency and energy along the entire value chain
  • Technical interface for substrate purchasing and utilisation
  • Scientific analyses of production processes with the aim of increasing capacity and yield
  • Supervision of production trials including technical, qualitative and commercial analyses
  • Close and trusting co-operation with other departments and external service providers
  • Identification, establishment and implementation of new processes with the Innovation Leader
  • Collaboration with interdepartmental projects & new product launches
  • Planning and co-ordination of production trials with production, supply chain and innovation
  • Support process and plant designs for construction and commissioning of new production facilities
  • Planning and implementation of commissioning in co-operation with engineering and production.

What do I need to be successful?

  • Minimum degree in Biotechnology/ Applied science or Engineering
  • Strong communicator, who can translate complex processes into a simple message.
  • Good knowledge in the field of fermentation (preferably yeast production) a MUST
  • Three years of professional activity within biotechnological or food manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of biotechnology / fermentation processes
  • Competency in physiology & biochemistry
  • Process knowledge in fermentation processes involving yeast extracts & active dry yeast
  • Experience and interest in process optimisation within a large-scale manufacturing environment.
