Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Purchasing Manager to oversee our procurement operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in supply chain management and logistics, with the ability to negotiate effectively and manage supplier relationships. This role is crucial in ensuring that our organisation maintains efficient purchasing processes while optimising costs and quality.
Duties
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with organisational goals.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions.
- Manage the procurement of goods and services, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate the movement of products and materials.
- Utilise Oracle EBS and SAP systems for tracking purchases, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
- Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant data for reporting purposes.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and quality of service.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably as a Purchasing Manager.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract management.
- Knowledge of supply chain principles and logistics operations.
- Proficiency in using Oracle EBS, SAP, or similar procurement systems.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex data sets.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- A degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
