How Fiyin Secured His Second Role as a Business Intelligence Developer

Another success story this week is that one of our alums just secured his second role as a business intelligence developer.

After Fiyin completed his data analysis training with RKY Careers, he had back-to-back interviews. He secured his first role as a Data Analyst a while back.

However, Fiyin’s career aspirations did not stop at his first role. He persisted in his applications, aiming for bigger and better opportunities, and his perseverance paid off.

And now, he’s here to speak about how easy it was to secure a role as a business intelligence developer.

Can you give a brief overview of the bootcamp experience?

The bootcamp was enlightening and practical. For the 8 weeks of rigorous training, the facilitators ensured we knew all the tools to succeed in this field: Excel to PowerBI, SQL and Tableau.

After the training, the CV and LinkedIn optimization played a vital role in my job search and showed my skills to recruiters. With no stress, I got interviews, and that’s how I secured my first role as a data analyst.

What inspired you to push further in securing a higher role and how did you secure the role?

Once I started my first job, I knew there was so much more to data analysis skills. I had to continue learning with my first job, and when I needed guidance, RKY Careers was still there with their fortnightly support sessions for alums.

With the newfound confidence from my first role, I eagerly pursued higher positions, armed with the professionally optimized CV that RKY had crafted for me. This document not only showcased my skills but also instilled a sense of self-assurance in me.

I was getting interviews upon interviews, and within a short while, I secured a role as a business intelligence officer with the NHS.

What made the transition easy was my experience at the boot camp and the further experience with my first role.
