Is landing a Civil Service Role in the UK difficult? Or do you need to enrol for a tech bootcamp to land one?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is possible as civil service roles are broad, and some roles require a data analyst’s service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An example is a client who enrolled in our data analysis bootcamp. He desired to transition into the tech line. His process was a very smooth one as he had strategic plans in mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He researched which learning institution to enrol in and chose RKY Careers. He contacted a consultant at RKY Careers, paid, and his journey began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a brief interview with Adewale and how he was able to land a role in Civil Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you tell us your experience in the bootcamp?\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I learnt all I needed to know or do to be a data analyst from a place with zero knowledge about the tech world to being in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bootcamp covered the nooks and crevices of learning and acquiring the skill. RKY is doing an excellent job for everyone out there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What skills did you learn in the bootcamp that helped you land a Civil Service Role?\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I will talk about the technical aspect of it. The facilitators broke it down into fundamentals: data extraction, data visualization, data dashboards, data analysis and business intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you briefly let us know each of what the fundamentals entail?\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With data extraction, you get to collect and retrieve data from databases using SQL<\/a>. With data analysis, you can clean, process and analyse data with tools like MS Excel<\/a>. For visualisation, you represent your analysed data using graphs, charts, etc., so stakeholders can understand it using Excel or Power BI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did you land a Civil Service Role?\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the benefits of the boot camp is CV optimisation. RKY optimised my CV to show the acquired skills from the bootcamp. With the CV, I started applying for different roles related to data analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At first, I kept getting many rejections and tried again next time. I did not let that stop me, and I kept applying to different places. Several months after the bootcamp, I secured a civil service role with my skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you give advice to someone out there?\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Never give up. Keep striving until you achieve your goal and, most notably, if necessary, enrol in a bootcamp when you need help transitioning into the tech line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
